A Celebration of Family History

As NGS gets closer the more I am hearing about all the events that are happening that week. Between Ancestry.com's special reception on Wednesday night, their Who Do You Think You Are season finale showing on Friday, A Celebration of Family History, and all the other events and conferences that week there are quite a few things going on that week. I am very excited for the week of NGS.

The other day I received in the mail my tickets for A Celebration of Family History that is taking place Thursday April 29 at 7:00PM at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

Event Description
David McCulloughDavid McCullough, renowned author of 1776 and John Adams, is coming to Salt Lake City to speak on the connections that tie families together through the generations. Hosted by President Henry B. Eyring of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this celebration will feature special audiovisual presentations and music by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.

I am excited to attend this event and hear from David McCullough and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra. It is always fun the hear the choir and orchestra live.

I will be reporting on the conference as a whole as well as the other events I will be attending that week. To follow more up-to-date events and posts, follow me on facebook and twitter.

Who Do You Think You Are?

It seems like the big topic lately is Who Do You Think You Are? For months now people have been talking about the British hit TV show and it is now finally coming to the U.S.

Who Do You Think You Are is a TV series featuring celebrities and their family history. Celebrities learn about where they came from and how they became who they are now because of their ancestors. The series starts on March 5, and will be featuring celebrities Susan Sarandon, Spike Lee, Sarah Jessica Parker, Matthew Broderick, Brooke Shields, Emmett Smith, and Lisa Kudrow.

I know I am excited for the show! Now if I could only set up a party with all my friends with drinks and popcorn to try and get them excited about genealogy too... Maybe I'll do that!
