A Fresh Look for a New Year

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your holiday season was great! Some of you may have already noticed the new look that Find My Ancestor has as well as the Find My Ancestor Blog. There are many new features to Find My Ancestor and the blog. The beginning of the year is the perfect time to start again with all of your New Years Resolutions and Goals, and I figured it would be a great time to launch the new site! I have been working very hard the past couple months and especially the last couple days to get this site and blog moved over from the old one. Don't let anyone tell you that moving an entire site and blog from one to the other is easy! It is a lot of very hard work! I am happy that the transition is over though. I think everything I wanted to do is complete - finally! One of the things I have been most excited about is the design of my new logo. With my old site and blog the logo that was used was from a Blogger template I had downloaded over a year ago. I liked the logo and template but it was never really mine. Anyone could go out there, find the same template and use it as their own too. I also began to get a little worried about the author of the template getting upset because I was using the logo on everything I branded as Find My Ancestor. Now, I have my very own logo - and it's custom! I can't take any of the credit for the creation of my new logo though. My brother, Jared, is the one that made it for me and for that I give many thanks! There are also many new features on the Find My Ancestor website. Over the next few weeks I will be featuring these items in my blog posts. Many of these features are available now, so go ahead and search around the new site and see some of them for yourselves. Be sure to check back for the posts on these new features. The layout of this blog is a bit different than the actual Find My Ancestor site. To get to the full website from the blog, simply click on the Home button on the navigation menu above. By clicking any of the other buttons above other than Blog will also take you to the full website. You will notice on many of the pages on the site I have an orange button for comments and feedback. Please feel free to let me know what you think of the new site and blog. Like I said, I have worked very hard and would appreciate any comments on what you like or don't like about the site. Also let me know of various features you would like to see on the Find My Ancestor website. I have many ideas for this coming year, but you are the ones I am doing it for so let me know what you want to see. I hope you find this new site and blog fun, educating and easy to use.
