As I was catching up on some fellow Geneablogger's posts today I thought to myself, the Find My Ancestor's Blogiversary must be coming up soon. I remember starting the blog back in December right around Christmas time. As I went back to look at the actual date of my first blog post I realized I had missed my own blogiversary! Find My Ancestor turned 1 year old yesterday!
I cannot believe it has only been one year since I started this blog. It feels like I have been doing it for years. This past year has been so fun writing about genealogy, meeting new friends both online and in person, learning so much about technology available to genealogists and of course seeing how the number of people following this blog has grown.
You readers are the reason why I continue to post about genealogy. When I first started I didn't know if anyone would be interested in reading what I had to say about genealogy, technology and the various other topics I have covered here over the past year. I want to give a big thanks to all the readers of this blog and for their great comments and questions you have asked!
Over the past year I have blogged about many different topics. My first couple posts were a series on data storage and online backup and the importance of making sure your data doesn't get lost or destroyed. For those of you who have started following the blog throughout the year, go back and check out the first couple posts about backing up and protecting your data.

Earlier this year I also started the Mobile Monday series which has been so fun. I am an Apple Geek and I thoroughly enjoy my iPhone. I quickly began searching for various apps I could use for genealogy while I was away from my computer. To my surprise I found a number of apps specifically for genealogy! I decided that I was going to have a weekly series on different app, both genealogy and non-genealogy related, that I use on my iPhone to do my genealogy. As time went on I received a few emails from some people asking why I never did any reviews on Android apps. Well the simple and easy answer is that I don't have an Android device. I did see every once in a while articles posted by others who were talking about Android apps and so I shared a few of those with you. Then, a few months ago my brother got one of the new Samsung Galaxy Tabs and so as soon as he let me see it the first thing I did was go to the Android Market and search for genealogy apps. I posted one earlier regarding the Find A Grave app and will continue to post articles for the Android devices in the future.
